Ingredients

  • 75g Allinson's Very Strong Wholemeal Bread Flour
  • 375g Allinson's Very Strong White Bread Flour
  • 1.5 tbsp Unrefined golden granulated sugar
  • 1.5 tsp Salt
  • 1.25 tsp Allinson's Easy Bake Yeast
  • 260ml Warm water

Method


  • Step 1

    Put the flours, sugar, salt and yeast into a bowl.


  • Step 2

    Mix to a soft dough with the water.


  • Step 3

    Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes. Shape as desired and put into an appropriate greased loaf tin.


  • Step 4

    Cover and leave to prove until double in size.


  • Step 5

    Brush with warm water and bake in an oven preheated to 220 C (fan 200 C, gas mark 7) and immediately turn the heat down to 200 C (fan 180 C, gas mark 6).


  • Step 6

    Bake for 30-35 minutes.
